Uranium Workers Cancer Benefit Programs
Uranium Miners Compensation
These programs are intended to provide $150,000 - $275,000 financial compensation for uranium miners, millers, and transporters who acquired certain cancers or diseases from working in certain states (Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming) between 1942 and 1971.
If you or a family member performed some type of duty in a uranium mine (above or below ground), uranium mill/processing plant, or were transporting uranium during this period, and acquired a life-threatening compensable disease because of this exposure, you may be eligible for compensation from the U.S. government. Some of the major contractors at the time included Kerr-McGee, Phelps Dodge, United Nuclear, and others.
Spouses or children or grandchildren are considered eligible survivors and may make a claim on behalf of a deceased family member who meets the criteria for the Uranium Workers compensation programs.
Covered Cancers and Other Illnesses
In addition to being able to prove that you or a loved one worked with uranium between 1942 and 1971, the claimant must have been subsequently diagnosed with one of the following:
Uranium Miners
Millers
Transporters
Covered Geographic Areas
